Comprehensive analysis, static elimination solutions for 13 types of equipment in the printing industry

Share:
 Everyone knows that printing is performed on the surface of the object, and the electrostatic phenomenon is also mainly manifested on the surface of the object. The relationship between the two is very close. During the printing process, due to the frequent impact, friction and contact between different substances, the result is that almost all objects participating in the printing process are electrostatically charged. Will have a great impact on product quality and production safety, so when purchasing printing equipment, we must pay attention to whether there is a static eliminator installed.

The most common and most common static problems in printing plants: electric shock, dust absorption, paper adhesion, and uneven delivery after printing. Today we will analyze the static elimination solutions of 14 different printing equipment.

1.label printing and production

Problem: The static electricity generated during the printing process of the ink will cause the printing material to adsorb dust and reduce the printing quality.

Anping suggested:

A. For a small amount of static electricity and small rolls, install an ion rod after the last guide roller.

B. For multiple drums, use ion wind rod to blow ion wind to each drum to eliminate static electricity.

C. The best method: Install a static elimination rod at 500mm of the reel to eliminate static electricity in a wide range and no air source is needed.

2.Gravure printing

Problems: Gravure printing, flexo printing, coating and lamination processes, etc. If the static problem is not solved, it will affect the quality and output of the product. A more serious problem is that electrostatic spark discharges can ignite solvents and cause fire or explosion, which is a major threat to safe production.

Anping suggested:

A. An ion rod is installed at a distance of 50mm from the paper surface to eliminate static electricity generated during the printing process;

B. 50mm behind the last guide roller at the paper feed, install ion rod 25mm away from the paper surface to eliminate static electricity entering the solvent zone material;

C. An anti-static brush can also be installed at a distance of 5mm from the printing material.

3. Digital printing

Problem: The printed paper usually has static electricity when it leaves the printer, which causes inconvenience to the post-printing operation.

Anping suggested: Install a static elimination bar 25-50mm above the paper to eliminate the static electricity on the paper and make the post-press operation smoother.

4. Offset printing

Problem: Offset printing machine will generate a lot of charge, such as: double sheet feeding, sticky sheet feeding, ink splashing, sticky roller, uneven dusting, blockage / unevenness in the paper output, and failure of the next process

Anping suggested:

A. Pre-press paper feeding: Ion rods can be installed 10CM above the paper stack to eliminate paper static electricity.

B. Post-press conveying: Install an ion wind rod within 50mm from the paper to eliminate the static electricity of the paper.

5.UV printer

Problem: The static electricity of the UV printer will cause the phenomenon of flying ink, resulting in blurred printing screen and even damage to the print head.

Anping suggested: Install a static elimination rod at the position of the print head cart to eliminate the static electricity generated by the printer and improve the printing quality.

6. Inkjet printer

Problem: If the inkjet machine has static electricity, it will cause the discharged ink droplets to change direction during printing, which will make the image quality worse.

Anping suggested: Install a static elimination bar above the print head to eliminate the static electricity generated by the inkjet machine and improve the printing quality.

7. Electrostatic dust removal of printing machine

Problem: In the process of printing, dust adsorption caused by excessive static electricity has become a major problem affecting the quality of printed matter.

Anping suggested: Use an ion air gun to blow the machine, remove static electricity and dust from the machine, and improve printing quality.

8. Laminated laminated film

Problem: Before bonding, the surface of the film will attract dust due to excessive static electricity. When the film and printed matter are bonded, electrostatic discharge will occur, resulting in air bubbles, and the quality of the product will be reduced. Electric shock will also occur during operation.

Anping suggested:

A. Before turning on the lamination, clean the drawing board with an ion wind gun;

B. Use an ion bar near the imprint line to eliminate static electricity on the film and the drawing board before bonding;

C. Install static bar in the dragging direction of the workbench to eliminate static electricity during the long distance.

9.Pad printer

Problem: If there is static electricity during pad printing, it will attract dust, cause problems such as flying ink / burr, and reduce printing quality.

Anping suggested:

A. Pre-press cleaning: Manually blow off with ion air gun or ion air nozzle to eliminate static electricity on printed plastic parts.

B. Ion rods are installed in the printing area to eliminate the static electricity generated when the pad moves between the print and the substrate.

10.Screen printing

Problem: If the static electricity is too high in screen printing, there will be problems such as flying ink, dust absorption, and substrates sticking to the screen.

Anping suggested: The best solution is to install the ion rod 500mm above the wire mesh, and the static electricity in the area covered by ionized ions will be neutralized.

11. Origami machine

Problem: If the paper is too static on the paper folding machine, it will cause the paper to stick to each other, causing poor paper feeding, double sheets, and even paper jam.

Anping suggested:

A. Ion rods are installed at the bottom of the slats to eliminate static electricity passing through the paper. If the paper sticks, you can install an ion rod at the exit of the fold.

B. Install an ion rod on the air line between the feeder air pump and the feeder to eliminate static electricity on the paper surface.

12. Automatic paper feeding machine, film feeding machine

Problem: Various static electricity problems such as conveying 2 sheets of paper due to electrification, jamming and irregularity.

Anping suggested:

A. Install an ion rod 10cm above the paper stack to eliminate static electricity in the paper feeder;

B. Install a static eliminator on the air line between the paper feeder air pump and the paper feeder to eliminate the static electricity of the paper feeding.

13. Paper and film cutting machine

Problem: A large amount of static electricity is generated when the paper is cut horizontally, resulting in uneven delivery or adsorption of shredded paper on both sides of the stack.

Anping suggested: Install an ion rod above the cross-cutting knife to eliminate static electricity generated during the cutting process.

Finally, a common problem is added: At the printing and receiving stacking place, the static electricity of the paper after drying is very high, and problems such as uneven delivery and electric shock may occur. It is recommended to use an ion bar near the paper carrier.
